Blog Tour Stop: Double Alchemy by Susan Mac Nicol

You all know each of Susan’s MM romances have given me a total fangasm! I expected her to write great romances and make me fall completely in love with her hot men. But I did not expect her paranormal/fantasy story line to make it all so much better. It’s like one of those mind blowing orgasms that Quinn and Cade keep having! But there was no fey/warlock reason for it, just Susan Mac Nicol’s absolute brilliance!

Powerful yet tormented warlock Quinn Fairmont must initiate the silver-eyed Cade Mairston into the world of witchfinders, Withinners, and what can happen when two men fall truly, madly, deeply in love.

In modern London,, there lurks a warlock. Quinn Fairmont. Dangerous, powerful, tortured. Sharing his body with the soul of an ancient Welsh sorcerer, Quinn is never alone—and never wholly himself. He fights against all those who would exploit his kind. He also takes pleasure where he can find it.

In the forest of Hampstead Heath, Quinn’s hometown, Cade Mairston appears like a waking dream. Lithe, lean and silver-eyed, he evokes feelings in Quinn unlike any other: along with lust comes true affection, immediate and shocking. Cade is clearly more than he seems. And yet, though a man of the world, Cade knows nothing of warlocks, witchfinders or Withinners. He knows nothing of what he is, what he might be, what he might feel. For him, the story is just beginning, and magyck, peril and passion await.

I just couldn’t believe how wonderful Quinn’s and Cade’s love story was, how detailed and carefully thought out the world of magic, warlocks, withinners, and which hunters was, how gripping. I am a total fantasy and paranormal fan so bringing a magical world to the streets of London was right up my alley.

The hints to a darker side of Quinn are there right from the start and his withinner, Taliesin, is just deranged and dark enough for me to be his fan. I loved to see him unfolding before my eyes, as more depth was added to his character.

While Quinn and Cade are drawn to each other by a powerful, irresistible attraction and things do happen fast, this is not in any way an insta-love type of affair. Feelings develop naturally, even if at a fast pace, and the two men have to accommodate each other to make it work.

The conflict between warlocks and witches and their hunters, the man seeking revenge against Quinn, the stories of past love and hurt, they all make this an incredible read. It is hot, it is mysterious, it is entertaining, it is, in short, another Susan Mac Nicol hit that I just know you will enjoy.
