Dawn to Dusk – A Friends to Lovers Gay Contemporary Romance

Dawn to Dusk is the first novel in the Lover’s Journey gay contemporary romance series. It blends coming of age with a friends to lovers story following the protagonist, Edi, from his childhood until adulthood.

Edi’s life is made up of precious moments.

That first encounter with Robert in rural Romania at eleven. A summer spent together in the same setting a year later. Their first text exchange in high school. The first sexual experience. The first heartbreak—the second and third and fourth chance. The point of total breakdown and the despair of failing. More love than anyone could have warned him about.

No matter how much time passes, no matter how different their paths, every meeting brings Edi and Robert closer together. Those stolen moments shine brighter than any. Yet loving Robert is not easy, not when Edi wants to be true to himself and is met with dishonesty. Or when Robert keeps parading new conquests and ignores Edi more often than not.

Edi has always loved Robert, but he must decide if his journey leads to or away from his childhood friend. Is it true love or is Edi just unable to let go?

Dawn to Dusk – An Excerpt

“Edi! Mrs. Dinu!” someone yelled. No, not someone. I knew who it was, but I refused to acknowledge it.

“Robert, what are you doing here, hon?” Mom asked and gave him a hug.

“Grandma said you were coming today. Thought you’d like a ride home.” He grinned at her and she responded in kind. Not me though, I was frowning and glaring. So much for my plan to avoid him at all costs.

We shook hands. I kept a blank face despite the zing of electricity that raced through me at the simple touch.

“You sit in front, Edi.”

I rolled my eyes and nodded to Mom. She had to do that, didn’t she? Why couldn’t she just sit next to Robert and leave me be? Who cared I loved to ride shotgun?

The moment I sat next to him, I realized what a huge mistake I’d made. I should have insisted Mom ride up here. His scent hit me so hard, my stomach fell and I found it hard to breathe. He was wearing some expensive cologne, but even underneath that strong scent, I could smell him. His very own, unforgettable aroma. It brought back memories of my face buried in the crook of his neck as I was jerking both of us off, him pressed to the ground, me on top of him….

Fuck, I can’t get hard now! Oh, but I could. I was wearing a tight pair of jean shorts, and although it was painful, it wasn’t that visible that I was sporting a huge boner.

We rode in almost complete silence. Apart from a few exchanges between him and Mom, it was quiet. That didn’t make it easier. Not when Robert used every chance he got to touch me. Shifting gears meant a chance to graze my thigh. Maybe it wasn’t intentional. If by ‘maybe’ I meant ‘not a chance in hell’. His smirk and subtle winks told me as much.
